Mindful Living and the Art of Self Care

As a student, an employee, and an intern, trying to juggle multiple roles can feel overwhelming. In today’s fast paced world, with packed schedules and seemingly endless demands, taking care of our mental health often takes a back seat.

However, neglecting self-care can have detrimental effects on our overall well-being. I have come to realize that if I want to be my best self in all of the roles I play, then I have to prioritize self-care.

Self-care is not a luxury nor is it an act of selfishness contrary to some beliefs. Practicing self-care is simply an act of self-compassion. In a society that glorifies hard work and hustle, we must also begin to take steps to cultivate a healthier relationship with ourselves.. This can be as simple as reading a book, going for a walk, and eating a favorite meal.

Regardless of the busy life we may live, we must make self-care non negotiable, so we can go from surviving to thriving.
